Miley Cyrus Early Life
Miley Cyrus was born on November 23rd, 1992 in Nashville, Tennessee. Her parents, Leticia and country singer Billy Ray Cyrus named her Destiny Hope believing that she would one day accomplish great things in her life. They quickly nicknamed her Smiley because she was always smiling, but as she grew that name was shortened to Miley. Miley has 5 siblings, two step siblings, Trace and Brandi from Leticia’s previous marriage, one half brother, Christoper and two younger siblings, Braison and Noah, also born to her parents Tish and Billy Ray. Country singer Dolly Parton was named as Miley’s godmother and growing up she was very close to her grandfather, Democratic Politician Ronald Ray Cyrus. Since his death in 2006, Miley has paid him several tributes including changing her middle name to “Ray” in his honor.
Miley’s childhood was spent near Nashville, Tennessee in a little town called Frankin about an hour away. She attended Heritage Elementary School and was raised as a Christian. Her family moved to Hollywood in 2005. Miley started her acting career at the age of eight and the rest is history. She is now well known for her portrayal of “Hannah Montana” and continues to warm the hearts of many in a career that will last for as long as Miley chooses to entertain us.
As an added note, several of Miley’s siblings have also entered the entertainment business. Trace is the vocalist for Metro, an electronic pop band, Brandi is a guitarist and Noah is avidly following an acting career.
