BILLY RAY CYRUS BACKS OUT OF "VIEW" APPEARANCE

It is NO secret that there is tension between Miley and her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, after his blatant bashing of the "Hannah Montana" show in an interview with GQ magazine last week. Billy made it quite clear that he blamed the show for "destroying" his family. Miley was furious over the comments and that could be the reason that Billy Ray's scheduled appearance on the popular talk show, "The View", was suddenly cancelled. A press release from the morning talk show listed MSNBC anchors Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski as today's guests. As of this post, a spokesman for Cyrus says that he has no plans in the future to reschedule. Miley has been the center of controversy and a media magnet since her split with Disney. 

Miley Cyrus Wins Global Action Youth Leadership Award

Miley Cyrus received the Global Action Youth Leadership Award at the first Global Action Awards Gala on Friday night in Beverly Hills, California. The 18 year old star, who’s taken some hits for her behavior recently, was recognized for her support of, "Blessings in a Backpack", an organization that works to feed hungry children at schools, as well as her own, "Get Ur Good On", campaign with the Youth Services of America. Miley was presented this first ever Award of this kind, on Friday, February 18, by her idol Hilary Duff. Accepting the award, Miley said, "I want kids to do something they love. Not something that seems like a chore because someone tells them that's the right thing to do or what their parents want or what's important to people around them, but what's in their heart."
